Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal is a relatively simple procedure that can produce some astonishing results, depending on the type of tattoo (amateur or professional) and the ink colour or colours within the tattoo.

How Does it Work?

During treatment, our Q-switched YAG/KTP laser delivers  precisely targeted wavelength of light over the tattoo. The pigment within the tattoo absorbs the light from the laser, which breaks the tattoo ink down into fragments minimising the appearance of the tattoo.  Over the weeks following the treatment, these fragments are metabolised and disposed of by the body.

What Happens During Treatment?

During laser tattoo removal, skin will be cleansed and the practitioner will then pass the laser over the surface of the tattoo. Treatment can vary depending on the size of the tattoo. Patients will experience a mild snapping sensation during treatment.

Is There Any Downtime?

After treatment, it is advised to use a high factor SPF sunscreen while the skin is still sensitive as well as a tissue repair cream.  Some may experience mild discomfort on the treated area but this usually subsides within a few hours.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of treatments required varies depending on the colour of the tattoo and how large it is. At your consultation, a course of treatments will be recommended and spaced every eight weeks.

The staff have been great and are so knowledgeable about the treatment. Thank you for removing my embarrassing tattoo!
