Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths on your skin that may have a ‘knobbly’ appearance and hang off the skin. They are not contagious or cause any pain or discomfort, however as they may grow in folds of the skin, for example, in the armpit, neck, groin area or under the breasts, they can become irritated through friction.
We do not remove warts or moles, which should be assessed by your general medical practitioner.
The first step towards removal of skin tags is to book a consultation with one of our highly experienced nurses who will assess the skin tag or tags and discuss with you the suitability and process of removal. The practitioner will advise which removal procedure will be most suitable for you, either Advanced Electrolysis or Plasma Pen.

How Do The Treatments Work?
Advanced Electrolysis uses a Thermolysis current and a very fine needle to cauterise and lift away the skin tag.
The Plasma Pen projects a small electrical arc from the tip of the pen to the surface of the skin. It heats the skin, removing the skin tag and causing a tightening effect in the surrounding areas.
During Treatment
During treatment, a numbing cream may used to make you more comfortable. The nurse will do everything she can to make you feel comfortable and out you at ease. The treatment takes about five to ten minutes.

Is There Any Downtime?
There may be some mild discomfort at the site of treatment depending on the size of the area, but this will resolve within a day or so. The treated must be kept clean and dry until the area is fully healed. You may resume your normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?
A single treatment is usually all that is required for excellent results.

Results
Results are immediate as the skin tag will be removed during the treatment. The results are permanent and repeat treatment is rarely required.
