Is Laser Hair Removal Suitable For Everyone?
Typically, laser hair removal is considered to be most effective on those with dark hair. This is because the hair pigment dramatically contrasts with skin colour, resulting in a higher rate of light absorption.

At Hilton Skin & Body Clinic we offer Laser Hair Removal to men and women over the age of sixteen.

How Does It Work?
The laser beam is attracted to the melanin within the hair. The light is converted into heat which travels down the hair, into the bulb and destroys the dermal papillae which are responsible for regeneration of the hair,

Is There Any Downtime?
Treatment is virtually pain free and there is little or no downtime. Some may experience mild redness or sensitivity immediately after treatment. This is temporary and should subside within a few hours.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
As general guide, a course of at least 6 to 8 treatments is required for optimal results. Sessions are usually spaced approximately 6 weeks apart. More treatments may be required in some cases where hair is very resistant to treatment.

When Will I See Results?
You will notice a gradual reduction in hair growth after each treatment. This is because laser hair removal only treats hair in the anagen phase of growth (when hair follicles are growing rapidly) and only some of your hair is in this phase of growth at any given time. This rate of growth varies from person to person. During your consultation, the practitioner will be able to advise on how your hair will likely respond to the treatment.
