Fungal nail infections are common and cause the nail to become yellow, thickened and often distorted.  It is not usually serious, but can make trimming the nail difficult, cause discomfort and lead to cracking or pieces of the nail breaking off.  If left untreated, the infection may spread.

How Do The Treatments Work?

The ND:Yag and QSwitched  laser beam heats the nail bed, destroying the bacteria that cause the fungus without damaging the surrounding tissue.

 

During Treatment

During treatment, the laser will be passed over the nail bed several times. Your treatment is complete within just a few minutes.

Is There Any Downtime?

There may be some mild discomfort at the site of treatment depending on the size of the area, but this will resolve within a day or so. The treated must be kept clean and dry until the area is fully healed. You may resume your normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

A single treatment is usually all that is required for excellent results, although is some cases repeated treatment is recommended.

Results

Full results are usually seen within three to six months after regrowth of the nail.
