Cryolipolysis, a pioneering “fat freezing” treatment, can provide dramatic inch loss through a non-invasive method that requires no scalpels or needles. 

How Does Cryolipolysis Work?

Cryolipolysis is the destruction of fat cells, also known as lipolysis, through freezing.  Fat cells are more susceptible to cold temperatures than skin cells, which means that freezing temperatures can destroy fat cells without having an impact on the outer layer of skin.

During the freezing process, the fat cells release their contents which urethan then flushed out of your body, reducing the visible fat underneath the surface of the skin.

During Treatment

During treatment, the Cooltech applicator will be positioned in the treatment area. A vacuum will then be applied, “sucking” up the skin, resulting in a cold, pulling sensation. The temperature will be gradually lowered until it reaches -7 or -8°C, slowly freezing the fat cells. The treatment takes approximately 70 minutes and is usually easily tolerated, which means that clients can relax, listen to music or even work whilst the treatment takes place.  Treatment is generally suitable for all clients, but it can only reduce fat cells in stubborn fat pockets – it cannot remove large areas of fat.

Is There Any Downtime?

Following treatment, the treated area will likely feel hot and may be slightly swollen or bruised. Any redness will typically disappear within a few hours, while bruises may take a few weeks to disappear. Some clients will experience slight numbness in the treated area for approximately one to eight weeks.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

One cryolipolysis session typically results in a 20% decrease in fat in the treated area, although this will differ from client to client and will depend upon the size of the fat roll and the area being treated. Many clients achieve their desired results after one session, but some clients may require up to three.

Results

The layer of fat treated will gradually be reduced during the two to four months following treatment, although many clients report noticeable results within four weeks.  Results of Cooltech cryolipolysis are permanent, provided that the client maintains a healthy lifestyle and diet following treatment in order to maintain their weight.
